Introduction
Pushkar is a Sanskrit word which means 'Born Due to Flower'. The myth says that this town was founded when a lotus fell from its beak on the Earth. The place where it fell is known as Pushkar. The town situated 14 km Ajmer, is included in the major pilgrimage centres of Hindus, giving it the title of 'Tirth Raj' (king of pilgrimages).
